The Automatic TrayPackr is a game-changer in automated packing. It blends efficiency, consistency, and delicate handling into one advanced system. The TrayPackr is designed to significantly cut down on labor and ensures uniform packing. It processes up to 320 apples per minute per unit.

Its standout features include fruit orientation, ease of maintenance and seamless integration with existing packing setups and full box transport.

Due to increased labour shortages we saw a new challenge for packing apples. The ATP is engineered for high packing rates, durability, easy operation with fewer people involved. ATP has a high efficiency and uses a rotation arm with few moveable parts, it is robust, moves very fast and smoothly  without compromising the fruit handling.

The Automatic TrayPackr differs from the precision-oriented SmartPackr and is designed for large volumes. It is celebrated for its speed, space efficiency and direct sorting machine integration, proven by successful introduction in the US, Canada and Australia (now 16 double units). This showcases its market readiness and performance superiority.

How it works:

  • Elevating the fruits when installed on an existing grading machine

Hygienic sorting of apples and round fruits

For food safety reasons, it is essential that the sorting machine itself is clean and is not a contamination source. We have upgraded the GeoSort, for which we are renown, adding stainless steel or synthetic parts. And leaving out the parts that are sensitive to dirt and contamination.

High pressure cleaning
In the whole machine you will find as few horizontal surfaces as possible. The design is kept open. GREEFA adjusted the design in such a way that the build-up of dirt and chance of bacteria growth is kept to a minimum. The user can immediately see the presence of dirt and therefore can start cleaning faster and more easily.

In all cases it is possible to clean the machine with a high-pressure cleaner.



SmartPackr packing robot for apples

Our SmartPackr apple packing robot is fast and optimally designed for consistent packaging of high-quality fruit. It fills trays and open top boxes at a rate of up to two fruits per second.
And to ensure the quality of the packed fruit by a final quality scan, the robot is fitted with GREEFA’s measuring system for external quality detection (iQS) .

Machine operation and touch screen

The fruits enter the robot’s domain on an infeed belt and rotate on the diabolo unit to the packing mechanism. Blushes and orientation are recognized to help place them in the right position for pick-up with the robot arm. Which then checks if this fits the relevant tray before actually placing it there with blush side up and in the selected stem-calyx orientation.

It’s fast and very fruit-friendly.

As soon as it’s completely filled, the tray is carefully transported on an evacuation belt for further handling – usually to a box-filling station.
