If you implement a presorting line, your setup requires specific hardware to handle bulk flow and bin management:

• • Bin Universal/Bin Tipper
    To feed the harvested bins into the system at a constant rate.
  • Dry or Wet Bin Filler (Robot)
    Crucial for presorting. After the sorting machine identifies the fruit, these robots gently place the sorted fruit back into bins for storage. Wet fillers (using water) are preferred for apples/pears to prevent bruising.
  • Water Channels (flumes)
    Often used in automatic sorting to transport fruit from the grader to the bin fillers without impact.
  • De-stacker and stacker
    To handle the high volume of empty and full bins automatically.
  • Drying tunnel
    If using wet sorting, you need a system to dry the fruit before it returns to cold storage to prevent mold growth.
  • Small fruit/trash remover
    A mechanical belt or roller that drops undersized fruit or leaves before they reach the optical grading machine.
